What does CSS minification change?
This tool removes ordinary CSS comments and unnecessary formatting while keeping rule order. It does not remove unused selectors, combine rules or shorten class names. Custom property values are preserved, so their comments and spaces may remain.
Is this a full CSS validator?
No. It detects incomplete strings, comments and blocks, and reports syntax the parser cannot process. It does not check every property value or guarantee browser compatibility.
Can I minify any stylesheet safely?
The minifier preserves quoted text and the separators required by calc() expressions. Keep your original file and test the result in your target browsers. Unsupported syntax is reported as an error; custom property values are kept as written.
Will minifying CSS make my website faster?
Reducing text can reduce stylesheet size. The difference depends on the original file, server compression, caching and the rest of the page; no speed improvement is guaranteed.
Is my CSS uploaded?
No. Processing runs locally in your browser. The tool does not execute your CSS or upload the input for minification.
